Description
As I mentioned in "ONE outta THREE" I was really annoyed with student complaints about having to walk further to school. I realized that the day this comic would run was National Disability Awareness Day and I could combine the issues to make a statement.
Most Americans really need to travel more and see how other people get out and about! They would be in better shape if they actually moved their butts a little more. Plus, it's just smart to remember what blessings you DO have and to enjoy them while you can.
If I could draw this one again, I'd have them walking from right to left, with the conversation in the same order, same place, but the guy in the wheelchair would be on the right. That way, you'd read from left to right and have the punchline at the end. D'oh! It's amazing what you miss when you're in a hurry ~ in more ways than just one.

I forget where and when, but a member of the student council at some school spent a week in a wheelchair to see about the conditions of the ramps and accessability and such. It was so awful he ended up writing a paper about it which got published. Imagine the faces of the school board as they frantically raised funds for construction of new wheelchair ramps.
